REPLACEMENT REAR PILLAR (3-DOOR)

WARNING : all the scoured areas must be protected by the approved electrolytic re-zincing process .

IMPERATIVE : observe elementary health and safety rules (wearing of filter mask for organic fumes - work in a ventilated area) .

2 - IDENTIFICATION OF REPLACEMENT PARTS

Rear pillar .

3 - COMPOSITION

(1) Rear pillar .

(2) Tapping plate retainer .

(3) Tapping plate .

(4) Welded pin .

(5) Welded nut .

(6) Spacer(s) (Rear pillar) .

4 - PART(S) REQUIRED TO CARRY OUT THE OPERATION

Rear pillar .

5 - PREPARATION OF NEW PARTS

Mark then cut out with a 1 mm thick wheel (Final cut) .

6 - CUTTING OUT

Mark then cut out with a 1 mm thick wheel (At A) (preliminary cut) .

Cut out by milling out the spot welds (At B) .

7 - RELEASING

Prepare the mating edges .

Protect the edges of the original and the new parts with welding primer .

8 - ADJUSTMENT

Fit :

Check the clearances .

Removal :

Check the clearance X = 1360 ± 1 mm .

Mark out the cut .

Remove : The rear pillar .

Clean up the cut (Final cut) .

9 - WELDING

Position : The rear pillar .

MIG stitch weld (At A) .

Grind the welds .

Spot weld (At B) Using AB1 equipment .

10 - PROTECTION

Spray liquid wax .
