REMOVAL - REFITTING REAR BRAKE SHOES (BOSCH)
1 - RECOMMENDED TOOLS
[1] Wheel cylinder clamps .
[2] Pliers for removing and refitting brake spring .
[3] Tool for removing and refitting shoe retaining spring cups .
[4] Tool for locking the nuts (-).0526J .
2 - REMOVAL
Deal with each side in turn .
REMOVE THE HUB AND DRUM ASSEMBLY .
Remove :
WARNING : do not damage the wheel cylinder gaiters .
Uncouple the handbrake cable .
Fit the tool [1] on the wheel cylinder .
Check :
Replace the wheel slave cylinder (if necessary) .
Replace : The brake drum (if necessary) .
3 - REFITTING
Clean the backplate (HENKEL type product) .
Always renew :
Grease :
Check that the automatic adjustment wheel rotates freely .
IMPERATIVE : return the adjustment system wheel to position (B) .
Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to removal .
Fit :
Tighten the nut (5) to 20 da.Nm .
Lock the nut (5) using the tool [4] .
Bleed the hydraulic circuit (if necessary) .
Apply full pressure to the brake pedal about thirty times (With the engine running, gently and progressively) .
3 - 1 - TIGHTENING TORQUES
Wheel slave cylinder brake pipe : 1.5 da.Nm .
Tightening conditions (Bolt (6)) :
Tightening conditions (Nut (5)) :
Tightening conditions (Wheel cylinders securing bolt(s)) :
Wheel bolts :
