REMOVAL - REFITTING ANCILLARY DRIVE BELT (POWER STEERING)

2 - DYNAMIC TENSIONER FEATURES

(A) Setting hole DW10 .

(B) Belt wear check mark (fixed on engine) .

(C) Zero wear mark .

(D) Maximum wear mark .

This marking system enables belt wear to be checked; coinciding of marks (D) and (B) means that the belt must be replaced .

Tightening torque(s) :

3 - REMOVAL

Lift the front right hand side of the vehicle .

Remove the front right-hand wheel .

Move aside the right-hand front mud shield .

Remove the shield under the power train .

IMPERATIVE : if the belt is to be re-used mark the direction of rotation .

Turn the tensioner roller (2) using the tool [4] .

Remove the belt .

4 - REFITTING

IMPERATIVE : ensure that the rollers turn freely (no play or hard spots) .

IMPERATIVE : when re-using the belt, refit it in the direction of rotation marked during removal .

Fit the belt ending with the dynamic tensioner roller (2) .

IMPERATIVE : take care that the belt is correctly located in the grooves of the various pulleys .

4 - 1 - BELT TENSION, IN THE EVENT OF REPLACEMENT

Turn the tensioner roller (2) using the tool [4], until the setting rod [2] is located in the setting hole (A) .

Release the fastener (5) .

Manoeuvre the eccentric roller (3) using tool [1] anticlockwise to free tool [2] from the setting hole (A) .

Without changing this position, tighten the fastener (5) to 4.3 daN.m .

Remove the tool [1] .

Turn the engine 4 revolutions .

Check that marks (B) - (C) coincide :

5 - REFITTING (CONTINUED)

Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to removal .

DW10TD ENGINE

Tighten the wheel bolts to 8.5 da.Nm .
