REMOVAL - REFITTING FRONT LOWER ARM

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS


[1] Set of 2 spring retaining rods (-).0918Z .


[2] Swivel ball joint uncoupling lever (-).0622 .

2 - REMOVAL

Position : The spring retaining rods .

Lift and support the vehicle with front wheels suspended .


Remove :

Extract the wishbone ball joint from the pivot using the tool [2], taking care not to damage the ball joint boot with the chain of the tool [2] .

Lock the lower wishbone in the lower position (Use a socket) .

Remove :

3 - REFITTING


Position the lower arm fitted with its flexible bushes and including that for the ball joint .

Refit the bolts which secure the wishbone to the sub-frame .

Tighten :

Ensure that the boot protecting the ball joint is in good condition (no cuts on the boot and securing clip present) .

Clean the ball joint taper, move the boot from the top to the bottom so that it regains its flexibility, position the boot in the fully extended position .

Engage the lower arm ball joint in the pivot, without forgetting the ball joint protector which must be positioned correctly (indexer) .

Fit the ball joint bolt and a new nut : Tightening torque to 4 da.Nm .

Tighten the wheel bolts to 8.5 da.Nm .

Return the vehicle to its wheels .

Remove : The spring retaining rods .
