REMOVAL - REFITTING ANTI-ROLL BAR (REAR)

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS

[1] Dismantling bolt (-).0538-C .

[2] threaded rod (-).0538-H1 .

[3] Bronze washer (-).0538-H2 .

[4] nut (-).0538-H3 .

NOTE : each time the tools are used, apply a slip product .

2 - REMOVAL

Remove the wheels .

2 - 1 - ON THE RIGHT-HAND SIDE

.

Remove :

.

Coat the thread and the end of the bolt [1] with slip product .

Screw the bolt into the lever until it contacts the bar .

Continue screwing to extract the lever .

2 - 2 - ON THE LEFT-HAND SIDE

.

Remove :

Remove the anti-roll bar with its left-hand lever .

3 - REFITTING

IMPERATIVE : check whether the two shock absorbers are fitted or removed .

Run a M8 X 125 tap through the anti-roll bar thread .

WARNING : thoroughly clean the splines on the bar and in the levers .

WHEN FITTING, COAT THE SPLINES ON THE ENDS OF THE BAR AND IN THE LEVERS WITH GREASE .

Each time the tool is used, apply slip product to :

Fit a new seal (7) on the lever .

EW10J4 ENGINE

IMPERATIVE : observe the location of the seals (7) .

Exterior diameter of the seal :

Fit the lever to the bar aligning the mark (A) with the lever centre line .

Using a mallet, fit the lever on the anti-roll bar .

3 - 1 - ON THE LEFT-HAND SIDE

Insert the bar into the cross tube .

Push in the bar until the lever contacts the arm .

Position :

Tighten the bolt (4) to 3.2 da.Nm .

3 - 2 - ON THE RIGHT-HAND SIDE

Grease the lip seal using KLUBER PROBA grease .

Fit the lubricated threaded rod [2] .

Fit the lever positioned so that the slot (B) is in line with the securing hole (C) .

Position :

Tighten the nut [4] while preventing the bolt from turning .

NOTE : if the lever is very tight, tap it on using a suitable size tube .

WARNING : support the other end of the bar - (left side) .

Position a 1 mm feeler gauge between the lever and the arm .

IMPERATIVE : stop tightening the nut [4] when the lever contacts the feeler gauge .

Remove the tools .

Position :

Tighten the bolt (1) to 3.2 da.Nm .

Replace the plug (3) .

Return the vehicle to its wheels .

Tighten the wheel bolts to 8.5 da.Nm .
