CHECKS AND ADJUSTMENTS INJECTION PUMP

1 - FAST IDLE ADJUSTMENT

DW8 ENGINE

ALL MODELS

1 - 1 - ENGINE COLD

Check that the lever (2) is against the stop to the right .

Otherwise, increase the tension of the cable (3) using the cable tightener (1) .

Complete the tensioning using the outer-cable tensioner (4) .

1 - 2 - WITH THE ENGINE HOT

Check that the cable (3) is not tensioned .

1 - 3 - THERMOSTATIC SENSOR CHECK

Cable movement between engine cold and engine hot must be greater than 6 mm .

2 - ACCELERATOR CONTROL ADJUSTMENT

2 - 1 - PRIOR CONDITIONS

Engine hot (fan started twice) .

Fast idle control free (clearance J between 0.5 and 1 mm) .

2 - 2 - ACCELERATOR CABLE TENSION CHECK

Press the accelerator pedal fully .

DW8 ENGINE

Check that the lever (6) is in contact with the stop screw (5) .

ALL MODELS

If not, modify the position of the throttle cable stop clip .

Ensure that in the idle position, lever (6) is in contact with the stop screw (7) .

3 - ANTI-STALL ADJUSTMENT (RESIDUAL FLOW)

DW8 ENGINE

Place a 3 mm shim [2] between the load lever (6) and the anti-stall stop screw (7) .

Push the stop lever (8) .

Engage the setting rod [1] dia. 3 mm in the lever (2) .

DW8 ENGINE

Adjust the engine speed to 1700 rpm +/- 100 by adjusting the stop (7) .

DW8 ENGINE

Remove :

• the rod [1]
• the shim [2]

4 - IDLING SPEED ADJUSTMENT

DW8 ENGINE

Adjust the idling speed by means of the adjustment screw (9) .

AIR CONDITIONING DW8 ENGINE

Idling speed : 875 ± 25 rpm .

DW8 ENGINE WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING

Idling speed : 800 ± 25 rpm .

ALL MODELS

5 - CHECKING THE ENGINE DECELERATION

DW8 ENGINE

Move the load lever (6) to obtain an engine speed of 3500 rpm .

ALL MODELS

Release the load lever (6) .

The deceleration must be between 2.5 and 3.5 second(s) .

The drop must be approximately 50 rpm in relation to idling speed .

If it is not, consult the table below .

In all cases, check the idling speed and adjust it if necessary .
