REMOVAL - REFITTING ANCILLARY DRIVE BELT

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS

DW8 ENGINE

[1] Tension lever (-).0188-J2 .

[2] Dynamic roller setting rod (-).0188-G .

2 - DYNAMIC TENSIONER FEATURES

A : Dynamic tensioner roller .

B : Alternator mounting .

C : Dynamic tensioner .

DW8 ENGINE

Tighten :

3 - REMOVAL

Remove the front right-hand wheel .

Move aside the right-hand front mud shield .

DW8 ENGINE

Release the fastener (5) .

DW8 ENGINE

Operate the tensioner roller (4) using the tool [1], until the setting rod [2] can be inserted in the timing hole (D) and the alternator mounting .

NOTE : if the belt is not present, move the tensioner using the square (E) (1/2 inch) until the setting rod [2] is positioned .

Remove the belt .

IMPERATIVE : check that the rollers (4) and (7) turn freely (no play or tight spot) .

4 - REFITTING

DW8 ENGINE

Fit the belt .

IMPERATIVE : take care that the belt is correctly located in the grooves of the various pulleys .

DW8 ENGINE

Turn the roller tensioner (4), clockwise, using the tool [1], to release the tool [2] from the setting hole (D) .

Without changing this position, tighten the fastener (5) to 5 daN.m .

Remove the tool [1] .

Turn the engine 4 revolutions .

Check the alignment of the setting hole (D) :

Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to removal .

Tighten the wheel bolts to 8 da.Nm .
