REMOVAL - REFITTING TURBOCHARGER

1 - REMOVAL

Remove :

• the front right-hand wheel
• the front right mud shield

Remove the shields under the power train .

Drain the gearbox .

IMPERATIVE : remove the exhaust pipe to avoid damaging the flexible hose; this cannot withstand the torsion, traction or bending tensions caused by the removal of one of the power train supports .

Remove :

• the lower torque reaction link
• the right-hand drive shaft

Remove the bolt (1) .

Uncouple The pipes (2) - (3) .

Remove :

• the expansion chamber and its mounting
• the EGR valve (4)
• the duct (2)
• the elbow/metering device assembly (5)
• the duct (3)

Plug the turbo inlet and outlet openings .

Remove the support (8) .

Move aside : The oil unions (6) -(7) .

Remove :

• the elbow (11)
• the nuts (9)

POWER STEERING

Remove the clutch housing closing plate .

ALL MODELS

Tilt the engine forwards .

Remove : The turbocharger (10) .

2 - REFITTING

Check that no foreign bodies are present ; In the induction system .

IMPERATIVE : always renew ; the nuts (9) .

Fit the turbocharger (10) .

Tighten :

• the studs on the manifold to 1 daN.m
• the nuts (9) to 2.5 da.Nm

Tightening torque(s) :

• tighten the bolts (12) to 1.2 daN.m
• the union (13) to 1.2 daN.m
• tighten the bolts (14) to 2.3 daN.m

Refit the support (8) .

Tighten :

• the bolts (15) to 2.3 da.Nm
• tighten the bolts (16) to 3 daN.m

Tighten the union (6) to 4.75 da.Nm .

Position : The pipe (7) .

Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to removal .

Refit the torque reaction link (17) .

Tighten :

• the bolt (18) to 1 da.Nm
• the nuts (19) to 1 da.Nm
• the bolt (20) to 5 da.Nm
• the bolt (21) to 3.5 da.Nm
• the drive shaft nut to 32.5 da.Nm
• the wheel bolts to 8.5 da.Nm

IMPERATIVE : always renew : the exhaust clip .

Fit : The exhaust pipe .

Fill the gearbox .

Top up the coolant level .
