OVERHAUL CYLINDER HEAD

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS

2 - DISMANTLING

Remove :

• the pulley (1)
• the camshaft retaining fork (2)

Tap with the mallet to release the oil seal(3) .

Remove the camshaft(4) .

Remove The 8 valves using tool [1] :

• the spring retainers(5)
• the cup (6)
• the springs (7)
• the abutment washers (8)
• the valves (9)

Remove the valve stem oil seals using pliers .

3 - CHECKING THE FLATNESS

Maximum cylinder head bow 0.05 mm .

4 - REASSEMBLY

Fit the seals using tool [3] .

For the interchangeability of the parts, refer to the following sections :

• valve springs
• valves
• valve guides
• valve seats

Fit :

• the valves (9)
• the abutment washers (8)
• the springs (7)
• the cup (6)
• the spring retainers (5)

Lubricate the cams and the bearings (Clean engine oil) .

Fit :

• the camshaft (4)

Fit a new lip seal (4) using tool .

Tighten the bolt (10) to its stop .

Remove the tool [4] .

Fit the retaining fork (2) .

Tightening torque: 1.5 da.Nm .

Fit the pulley (1) .
