Hello BlackBeauty,
Welcome to the forum.
Sorry, I can't help with your problem. Don't know whether the lowering kit is of incorrect design or whether it has been installed incorrectly.
I don't really understand why people do such a thing anyway when the manufacturers have spent millions in developing their cars to perform properly in the first place.
Perhaps someone else who has carried out the mod can suggest where to look.
Best of luck, hope the bruises disappear soon!
Ron

What springs were used?
It could be one of many things. Most likely is the drop link as they are disturbed when removing the dampers.
To check if it is the droplink at fault diconnect and remove it from one side completely. Go for a short drive and see if the clunk has gone.
Could also be a front ball joint as the hub is removed as well...or could be the top mount/bearing...

Sorry I can't help but Teddy is the guy on here with the knowledge along with 'reap'.
As for lowering, it's all about personal choice. The car as standard has a 4x4 look about it and even more so with the 1.6 if it has 15" alloys. It certainly makes the car look far better.
