Since we were unable to organise a CC drive day in Sydney a few months ago, any Sydneysiders interested in coming along to a drive day this Sunday that's organised by one of the guys from 206gti.net.

From: "Gavin Perry" <gavin@c...>
Date: Tue Jun 3, 2003 8:47 pm
Subject: SUNDAY 8th JUNE 206 DRIVE DAY CONFIRMED

Judging by the number of emails I have been getting there are quite a
few of us that just can't wait for this week to end. I have spoken to a
number of you and the consensus was lets head south! South on this
our second outing of the year we are going to head down to Kiama. Our
trip will take us through

1. Hurstville and Sutherland
2. Through Loftus and enter Into the Royal National Park. This road –
judging by the map – look great, although we could have a few Sunday
drivers to content with!!
3. We will come out at Otford and drive down the coast through
Stanwell Tops, Scarborough, and Bulli.
4. A short burst along the Princess Highway and along to Port Kembla
5. Pass through Lake Illawarra and head down the coast through
Shellharbour
6. Rejoin the Princess Highway at Dunmore and shoot straight
through to Kiama
7. Head West along Jamberoo Road through to Jamberoo
8. Then join up with the Illawarra Highway and head through the
Macquarie Pass National Park
9. We will then cut across to Bowral along the Napean River. There
are two ways to go, although one does have a view gravel sections.
10. I think by this time we will all be completely knacked and head home
via Mittagong and the Hume Highway.

FULL DETAILS WILL BE PROVIDED ON THE DAY - All you need to do is
get down to car park at the North most end of the Bondi Beach
Esplanade at 9.30am for a departure of 10am. I look forward to
catching up with out friends and meeting new fellow Pug Drivers.

It going to be on hell of a drive, definetly fun going through the twisty Jamberoo path, i'll see if i can get a companion to join me else it going to be boring with no one on the passenger seat for the whole day. I am not 100% sure i can make it.
how many CCs will be attending this one?

I think I might be the only CC that has told them I'm going. Come along if you can, I'm still trying to convince my gf to come with me, otherwise it might be a solo effort or I'll grab any friend along.

Let me know if you coming.

It was a great day driving with a pack of 7 GTIs, plenty of quick sharp turns through the National Park and winding uphill through the forest. I had the only CC there, so there was a lot of wide open eyes admiring the CC's beauty. Had to do the roof show of course!!
