Is this a serious condition, should I take it in, or will the problem go away??!

How old is your car? Should take it back to the dealer.

if it happens again, i suggest to open the back of them on a sunny day, leave open for a while and condensation will go away, then just put the back cover again, you can find out how to disamble the fog lights on the user manual, also you can get compressed air (on a can) and just spray the air on them.
hope this helps.
