Head lamp dosent work

Post by macaholic »

I have a 2003 and have suddenly had a problem with the dipped beam not working.

Symptoms:
The half beam does not turn on with the lever regardless of whether the ignition is on or not.

High beam works when I pull the lever towards me but can't get it to stay on.

What I have done so far
The lamps are tested
No broken fuses
No power on any cable to the H7 lights

I've been looking for a relay but can't find it, even though i have a wiring diagram, i really dont understand it

I'm guessing it could be the lever itself but I'd really like to know where the relay is in order to omit that possibility before purchasing a new lever.

Anyone have an idea of what the error could be or where to search

The relays are on the BM34, the fuse box in the engine compartment. They are actuated from the demultiplexer on that board, which is driven by mutiplexed signals from the stalk unit. (I assume your car is multiplexed - I believe all the CCs are.)

I think the solution for a bad relay is a replacement BM34, or repair by a specialist, so the cheapest "parts roulette" move would appear to be a new stalk. Good luck.
