Brake problem

Post by Nosam »

Hi,
I recently had my car in for new front pads, however, when it came back the pedal was really spongy and travelled along way and have to push twice to get any sort of decent brake performance. The garage said the system was not opened so no air could have got in, could it be a stuck piston on one of the calipers or something more serious? Also if the system was not opened could pressing the caliper back have caused back pressure and damaged a seal in the master cylinder?

Thank to all, have not in ten days somhope to get sorted quickly

That garage sounds pretty dodgy and unprofessional. After working on brakes, they should have done a road test, discovered the problem and fixed it. It may just need bleeding.
