Hi
The garage was going to change the rear pads on my 206cc but said they need a tool.
I thought it was a wind back tool but they've said it's something different.
Would this be the tool they are talking about ?

Re: 206cc 2.0 - Rear Brake Pads change tool
I changed the ones in my 2006cc 1.6 last year and i am 100% sure i used a wind back tool. I have just checked my orders and i ordered a wind back tool the same day i bought the brake pads.

That tool looks like a brake piston spreader, so not wind back but push back. Lots on Ebay quite cheap.

Like a lot of manufacturers Peugeot didn't always use the same type of calipers on the rear .. and so pads are also often different and not swappable either.
The calipers on our 2001 CC had wind-in pistons but even then the normal tool didn't work too well as the bracket used to rest the plate of the winding tool onto wasn't in the right place to support it properly. I wound the pistons back with a mixture of the correct tool (with and without the supporting plate) and an assortment of screwdrivers and other tools! Being careful of course not to damage the polished surfaces of the pistons.
(I wasn't too happy either when the Eicher pads I was sold by ECP turned out to be made of cheese and needed replacing again within a few months! )

Cheers, why is nothing ever easy :-) Wish they would just keep the same calipers and tools to make the job easier :-)
