Noticed at the filling station this morning they have a sign up saying they are switching from E5 to E10 petrol and cars made pre-2011 won't run on it.
My 206cc was registered in 2002 so really worried I'll be left without my car. I rely heavily on my car and can't afford to replace it.
What's your views on this please?
I really hate this government for several reasons
E10 Petrol
Re: E10 Petrol
According to HM Gov website, all Peugeot petrol engines from year 2000 onward are not effected by E10 petrol. E5 will continue to be available from some service stations.

Thanks Luditus. That's good news at least. I'm rather fond of the old girl. We'll see if she runs OK on it. She won't run on any of the supermarket petrols and seems to have a preference for BP.

Hi,
your car will run fine on E10. Most if not all cars will run fine on E10.
It's a lot of hype about nothing.
if you do not run your car a lot it will benefit from E10!
Cheers,
Iain.

Re: E10 Petrol
It's equivalent to 2 cups of gin thrown into every gallon. Pity they don't sell it as separates.
Re: E10 Petrol
It can damage old rubber pipes and seals ... keep an eye out for odd leaks. Or just run it on the "super" equivalent fuels like Shell V-Power .. that's staying E5.
