Botom Rad hose

Postby Spitfire6 » Thu May 28, 2020 12:57 am

Hi,
I have a 2002 2L 16V.
Trying to find a new bottom radiator hose. The outlet of the radiator to the engine.
It looks like a 32mm ID S-shaped hose about 500mm long.

Checked with service box which was no help. Anybody know the part number as I give up!

Cheers,
Iain.

Not sure what the problem is. I've checked my Service Box, and there are two possibilities:

If you have a water/oil heat exchanger on engine, it's 1351 ZF, and uses gasket 1343 Z4 at the rad end. If no heat exchanger, it's 1351 ZE and no gasket.

The drawing for the "with heat exchanger" case shows a sort of collar around the pipe with two small pipes running into it which must be the heat exchanger, as the drawing for the other case does not show that.

If you can't get that on your Service Box ( the drawings are listed under "Durite Radiator Hose"), I could post a couple of screen grabs.

Hi Ian,
I saw the hose with the two smaller ID hoses going to an oil/water heat exchanger which I do not have.
I have just googled the ID you supplied & it looks like it>
Many thanks.

I thought When I selected car & engine it would show me what I have. Clearly not.

Again, Thanks.

Cheers,
Iain.

Hi,
found one on EBay for around 20 quid. Has the over-braid.
I already have the top hose + thermostat. 5L of Prestone.

I have read the instructions to replace coolant. Complicated!
I will be dropping hoses and flushing with tap water. No vacuum pump.
I don't expect the coolant to be dirty but its five years old after the cambelt was changed.

Cheers,
Iain.
