Hello from Denmark Western Australia

Postby Fihen » Wed Jul 18, 2018 3:59 am

Hi all,
recently found this forum and after reading some post I realised that your forum is the place for me. I am currently restoring a 2001 206cc with the TU5JP4 14 16v dohc mpfi (80kw). Few what a mouthful. Anyway my car is showing an anti pollution fault as has been mentioned by other members in your forum. Hence the car is going off to get the fault code/s and I will be reporting back.

Could be something as simple as a leak in the exhaust ...

Coil pack, crank sensor, coli pack (poss plug 2) and air con in that order. Google them for more info.

Failing coil pack will also cause anti-pollution fault.

If you do change them do one at a time ... then you know what really caused the errors

One think to also check. Some Peugeot coil packs and NGK plugs are incompatible (probably the internal resistors in the NGK plugs). I think it's the Sagem unit.

The best option is to fit Bosch plugs if you can get them .. we fitted Super 4's to our 2.0 and it made a big difference to the pickup and also MPG was better. But that could have been the peugeot branded plugs fitted were well beyond their best ..

Thanks gazza82 as luck will have it I have ordered bosch plugs and new filters. I have found out that the whistling sound coming from engine is a tensioner pulley. I have ordered a removal tool but also mentioned is asetting rod for the dynamic roller. Do I need to source one of these????

Just an update to oil in plugs. It would appear that some ham fisted person has spilt oil into the valley between the cams. The engine has been run for 20 mins and no sign of oil arround the plugs. Phew
