OK I thought the Millers test kit was some sort of DIY thing. Personally, I use Mebs, at the oil lab for my testing.
BTW- Sample should be taken within 15-20 mins of engine shut down from halfway up the sump to catch the heavier T.I.M.
Good luck with your quest.

Re: Oil filter change
Hi Col,
Thanks for the info; I will measure with the dipstick when I vacuum the oil sample out on hot oil. To the bottom of the dipstick plus 10mm should do it.
Cheers,
Iain.

Re: Oil filter change
Hi,
While searching the internet to find out how to reset the oil "counter" after an oil change. (Sorted).
I found this!
I have just "dumped" the cheap oil as the counter said around 500 miles left. I don't have any to send off for an oil analysis! All at the recycling plant and oil sucker has only a few drops available.
So, just before another 12k5 miles, I WILL send the 0W40 for analysis. 113K miles on the engine now.
Will have to wait another 10 months or so. Sorry about that.
Cheers,
Iain.

Re: Oil filter change
Hi,
just tested the oil in the Spitfire FS Mob#1 0W40. A lot thinner than the recommended API SE recommended 20W50 mineral oil.
I will send the CC's oil off on Sunday. But the problem.
I know what the millage let is, but believe it is a calculated figure and can differ from true "mileage!.
I think I prior set the service interval to sever or normal. What max values are they & do I need to math the digital miles left that is displayed at bootup?
8000 miles left last time I noticed.
Cheers,
Iain.

Re: Oil filter change
Oil seems to be fine after 12K5 miles. 3L was used to top up over this period. Even though the oil is fine & wear is minimum I am moving to Triple QX 5W40 synthetic @ 20 quid for 5L.
