Replace clarion CD player in 03 206cc

Postby Darren187 » Fri Jun 23, 2017 11:32 am

Hi the CD player in my 03 206cc doesn't work, but the radio does. If I get a new clarion replacement (that's what is currently fitted) with a code is it a simple change, as I don't want to loose the dash display of temp, miles left in tank etc by fitting something different.

Any advice welcomed thanks in advance

Only the Peugeot units will use the MFD .. but a different type of clarion headunit shouldn't interfere with the display .. it just will not show you what station you are on, etc.

'03 Peugeot radios need to be mapped in/out using PP2000. If not, the car thinks the radio is missing and warns you ..

Is this mapping easy to carry out, or would I be better off just buying a new CD player and forgetting about the display. Any recommendations of makes of CD player welcome

An alternative, assuming the radio is an RD3 - keep the present unit, and plug in one of these into the CD changer port at the rear. Will work as long as you don't have the Clarion PU-2471A.

Needs to be "activated" with PP2000 (easily done if you have access to the kit). You can then have 6 emulated CD's on your usb stick/SD card with up to 99 tracks per "disk", controlled by the radio buttons. Not enough? Just swap the stick/card ;)

Haha,

You think you have a solution and you check what type you have, it's the PU2471A(G).

Seen one of these on eBay for £30 with a VIN and code. Will this work, plug and play??? I understand the radio stations won't be displayed if my research is correct.

If you don't use PP2000 to program the replacement radio with the car's VIN, it will beep continuously. A few sellers may offer to program the radio with your VIN - that would be plug and play.

This is a better price, and it is a VDO, not a Clarion, so it will work with the Yatour emulator, but it will need to be programmed with your car's VIN.

Looks ok.

Btw, this seller does the VDO unit if you specify, also free VIN coding and postage. Gives you the option to fit the Yatour player if the CD drive goes again ;)
