Hi all. New member

Post by Chestrefeldian »

Hi all and thank you for the membership.
I have the opportunity of acquiring. 2 litre, all leather trim, slightly worn 206cc.
All round discs, abs etc.
Everything seems to work ok (including hard top mechanism) apart from the fact that it might need a rear axle replacement.
It needs a lot of cleaning up and has a few bodywork dinks.
I'm tempted to have a go at it.
Any comments welcome.
Thanks

Hi and welcome.
Cleaning up & TLC are mainly labour, so a low cost way of getting a 'CC.
Replacement axles aren't expensive and are easy to change. So long as everything else is OK- Go for it.
Cheers Col.

Don't forget the timing belt, tensioner and followers, and water pump - if they've not been renewed yet.

Changing the rear axle assembly is made so much harder on the CC by the reinforcing bars under the rear end .. those torx/allen screws will be a PITA to shift!
