206 cc Allure 1.6 2005 - £500 BARGAIN
My daughters 206 cc Allure is for sale, black with biege leather. 57,000 GENUINE MILES. MOT 11 MONTHS.
Has been sorned for over a year as daughter lives overseas .In ok condition for year. Here is the reason for cheap price.
MOTd the car in July to sell it,buyer came to collect and roof wouldnt work.Tried various instructions on these forums to no avail (I am not good mechanically ....) Have opened manually and now lid latches will not go back.Sure it is something simple as roof was working in July. BARGAIN FOR SOMEONE.... £500. NO OFFERS
Live in South Bucks.
UPDATE-LATCHES NOW CLOSED-NO BLEEPING...THANKS TO RELAY TRICK FROM SLO

Have a search for my RELAY TRICK to get the roof working, its self explanatory and quite simple to do and could potentially make you some money.

Thank you so much for the relay trick suggestion Slo.
It worked and now I have got all latches closed and no "bleeps".
Prior to your advice I wasted hours trying to close it as shown in the manual...
Now all I have to figure out is why it still wont open even though it was perfectly ok a few weeks ago.
Is the reset process shown on this forum worth a shot?

BSI reset won't work as roof has it's own ECU. You really need to find what caused roof to fail in the first place-I suggest starting with microswitches.
Cheers Col.

Many thanks...I will investigate how I can check the microswitches. Most grateful. Regards Will

Yay, neat little trick isnt it. Try manually opening the roof fully including closing the boot lid down while the roof is in the boot and closing it completely a few times it might do the trick.

Re: 206 cc Allure 1.6 2005 - £500 BARGAIN
Tried the manual opening/closing...no luck. With my basic knowledge and the microswitch diagram I have checked and cleaned the switches.
Two questions :I get the "bong" when opening drivers side roof latch but no "bong" from passenger side,is that correct or should it sound on both sides?
The boot lock latch looks well worn bashed but switch does click and work courtesy light in boot, read on the forum that it is better to disconnect? Tried to source a new latch with no luck so far, dont want to waste time if it is okay to disconnect switch.
Cheers Will

Just disconnect it for the time being so you can rule it out later when you get the roof to work. My car only bongs when i undo the drivers side catch too but it wont work until i undo both so maybe its meant to be like that.

Re: 206 cc Allure 1.6 2005 - £500 BARGAIN
Further development....small piece of "rubbery plastic" fell out of o/s roof latch...noticed on a google that it refers to at a leg in the latch and roof will not work if it breaks off. I do not want to go off in the wrong direction so anybody any ideas on this? I really appreciate all the advice I am getting. Will

Thats a bargain for anyone, if you look on the hook latch of these you can see a round black rubber bung is that whats fallen off? If so its just a cushion wont hurt to not have it but it might rattle about.
Dont be tempted to remove any switches from any brackets they arent meant to be removed and will break if you force them off just replace the entire bracket with the switch attached.
Important note here The holes in the brackets are much wider than the bolts that hold them in place, this is for adjusment its not just a case of swap them over and tighten back up they have to be aligned, its a doddle to do though but the roof could leak if you just bang em in and forget about em.
