Pull string in boot (for when auto roof closing fails)

All your other probs if any.

Opened my boot the other day to find that the pull string that you use when the auto mechanism on the roof closing fails...... had fallen off!!

Hope you know the one I mean... its the one that normally sits in the little hole at the top of the boot.

The pull string had frayed off and I have no idea how?

Has anyone else faced this and is it covered by warranty?

It happens if the string is dangling loose. The end stopper should be porerly located in it's hole.

Haven't had the problem myself but I'm pretty sure others here have had their dealers sort it out for them under warranty.

Take to your dealer and get them to sort it (under warranty)
Should always be in the little hole and not dangling down!

Yep mine was dangling down (the string thing!) and i lowered the roof, i heard a load pop sound and i thought i'd knacked something, Luckily the string was pulled back into the hole, but sure the loud sound was though, it will be covered under warranty, not sure why mine popped out!

It was the first piece of advice i remember reading on this forum....always ensure the white string thing is secure in its hole...

Thanks for that... I have read before comments about it being snuggly stored in it's little hole and was usually quite careful... perhaps I have neglected it for a while.

I remember posting about this just after I got my CC. The noise on closing had me baffled for a while but found it in time to avoid it being busted. I wrote to Peugeot suggesting there should be some form of labelling in the boot alerting to the need to have it tucked away in its hole.

You should be covered under warranty - insist.
Cheers

Mine was replaced under warranty. Bit of a surprise to open the boot one day and find the end of the cord in the boot.
