peugeot 206 started to emit strong gas fumes.. need help!!!!

I have a car peugeot 206,bought it last year. I turned the car on and drove 10 minutes to a shopping center. Everything was fine. I then started the engine again and this time I smelled gas inside the car. I drove home and after I turned off the engine, the gas fumes still was strong in my garage. I tried to check the reason for it, but failed to get the cause.. i took it to the nearest garage but they could not find the reason for it..What could cause this to happen? Should I be worried?

Most obvious problem will be a fuel leak ..
