As I understand it you have no rights against the private seller Hannah, unless they lied about the car before you bought it - Caveat emptor.

Hi,
I have the same thing on my 206cc SE 2.0 and the metallic clinking is one of two things, the links (or chains) which a mechanic will know what these are, or (and suprisingly) the engine cover.
You have to remember that the cover on the 2.0 and (I think) 1.6 is held down by little black twist plugs which will come loose when driving and if there is any room to move it will jingle.
Have you looked into these?
