All your other probs if any.

We have had our CC now (2 litre model) for just over a month, so far everything perfect except that there seems to be an excessive amount of brake dust that covers the alloys. Is this common? Will it stop? It is annoying because spend hours cleaning it and then within days the wheels look terrible (minor problem I know - but I want my baby to look beautiful all the time!)

Mine too - The Autoglym Whell cleaner is fab stuff

Its a kinda acid spray that you put onto the alloys, leave for 1 min then brush off.

Its really easy to do.

see the cleaning section.

Use the wheel cleaner as above but the treat with the Instant Tyre Dressing (yres the alloy despite the name of the product) and they will come clean with just a rub with a wet sponge.

Soooooo easy, I always have a supply in the house to make mine shine

I use Wonder Wheels (as recommended by Lyndon) and it seems to do the trick.

What I didn't realise but I do now is that you don't use it EVERY time you clean your CC! (so for me that is every week)

Keeps them sparkling and gets rid of the black spots too

A while ago I saw some black rubber type disc which fit between the hub and the wheel - their main purpose was to reduce brake dust on alloy wheels but looked a wee bit naff. Haven't seen them for ages though.

dont use the discs. They reduce ventilation to the brake discs and can cause them to warp and the heat can also damage your alloys.

The dust problem is not just for CC's, take a look when on the road and you'll see mercs, beamers, etc all have the same problem. Fact of life. Mind you I've never had any difficulty cleaning mine.

Thanks for all your replies - very impressed! At least I know it is not just our problem (never had it happen in other cars). Looks like a trip to the shop to buy some wheel cleaner.

By the way, what color's your CC and what part of Melbourne are you in? I work in Mt Waverley and live in Malvern East.

Will keep my eye out for you. I originally wanted Aegean Blue with black leather but couldn't stand waiting any longer. So I took a silver with black leather and collected the car in Feb. Am very happy with the silver, but am sure your Aegean looks great. Hope to see you on the road one day.
Cheers
