HELP.....roof cover wont descend

Can anyone help.......... the roof closes fine, but the mechanism stops after the roof is up, with the cover stuck vertical. I manually lowered it, and a couple of days later, pushed the button, and it magically locked ok. BUt, it happened again, and this time, no magic, and roff cover needed manual lowering again,.....is this a microswitch etc, please help, thanks
