16" Wheels but tyres??
I am a new member here and soon to be a new owner (& 1st time of Peugeot) of a 206cc 2004. When i placed my order for the cc, i'd also ordered a set of original Peugeot 16" wheels (same set of wheels as the 206) to replace the standard 15" wheels.
The 16" have arrived and the cc anytime next week. i need to know what is the right tyres for the wheels. Right meaning 'Function' & 'Aesthetics'. i have narrowed down to 2 options, 205/55R16 and 205/50R16. As for the brand, i am thinking of Michelin, BFGoodrich & Goodyear.
Any advice? thanks.

Hello and welcome to the peugeot world......Depending on your previous size u should adjust the new one for functionality......As for aesthetics the second choice is better! On mine i have the Goodyears F1 and am very satisfied with em.......Wish u nice rides mate !!!
Thank God Its Friday...

The 15" alloys are standard for cc. The 16" alloys standard in the 205 GTi are sold seperately where i am (asia) and sold without tyres. There are not cheap - got them for around £150/wheel. With so much already spent, i should go the whole 9 yard with the tyres too.
195/45R16, 205/55R16 & 205/50R16 which????
205/55 - good riding comfort
205/50 - aethetics over comfort
195/45 - low profile - (2 x aethetics over comfort)???
I have used Goodyear Eagle F1 (1st edition) 3 years ago, they are good both wet & dry but a little noisy. Perhaps the new release are better!!??

17" wheels are bumpy and you'll notice it alot. I've just put back on my 15" wheels as I travelling from Sunderland to Manchester and the ride is alot smoother on the 15" wheels though the car doesn't look as good now!

I was gonna get some 16" alloys, however the shops suppliers let me down twice... Wolf Race and Motor Sport Wheels (Matrix Torques)
They were gonig to fit Toyo Proxes T1-S 205/45 R16s to the 16" alloys.
I am not sure if 205/50 would make much difference as obviously this affects the circumference of the wheel and therefore the speedo/actual speed too.
Just thought I'd let you know that. Think Peugeot fit 205/45 to their 16" alloys from what I have seen. Correct me if I'm wrong of course.
Still got my 15" standard Peugeot alloys for now. Can't seem to find any alloys I like that are direct fit... Need spacers, so more hassle.... Ah well, perhaps next years new alloys......

I think you are right Peugeot fit 16" alloys (206 GTi) with 205/45. 45 to 50 is a marginal difference (comfort & looks wise, maybe not cost). yes the speedo of the car will be affected having 16" alloys. It should give a lower reading for speed than the actual speed, just have to workout a ratio.
I am also assuming that the original Peugeot 16" alloys standard in 206 GTi snap directly to the cc (without need for spacers).

Hmm, so 17's make it bumpy, oh well, there goes my idea of 10 pots, i'll stick to a 6 pot brake upgrade as my RG edition 16's will take that ok.
Has anyone noticed a difference switching from the 16/45's to 16/50's? And what sort of widths can be achived if we fit some small spacers, can we get up to 235's?
Thanks
