I've just been looking at the French Peugeot site, which is the same as the UK site.

If you go to the choose my car page and select a CC with metallic paint and leather, it comes to £17200. On the french site the same car comes in at 16020 Euros (I have an old keyboard with no euros sign on). So I went to a currency converter page to see the difference in price

The french car comes out at £14400 approx, where as the UK car comes out at 24000 euros.

I didnt realise until now just how much more we pay for cars over here. :yikes:

well... dont cry... here in Norway we have to pay 32000 € for a cc with leather seats... and thats with the 1.6 L engine... :(
I will guess 32000€ is about the average income pr. year for a person in Norway.

Well, in Holland the 1.6 with leather costs 22.500 euros , which is about the average a person in Holland earns in one year ( before taxes ! ), so we are all equal after all :D

I heard that if you get an import you dont get the normal 3 year warranty that the UK dealers give.

Is that right?

That's right. With UK cars you get a 1 year manufacturer's and 2 year dealer warranty. With imports you get a 2 year manufacturer's warranty. I paid an extra couple of hundred for another year's warranty though so I've still got 3 years.

Yes I did this price check a couple of years back when you got 1.70 euro to the pound and the basic 206CC came out at 10500 pounds really shocking!
