Got a Peugeot recall letter today, got to have the ignition barrel modified to stop the key getting stuck in, something to do with the key blades ? (51 - 2.0SE - Multiplex).

I have a june 2001 model and we had a recall to prevent the steering barrel rubbing with the ignition.
They stick this lame sticker under the bonnet which mine has now been washed away!!. But peugeot do log that you've had the recall on their system.

Confirmed that in Australia this is not a recall but rather a service item. Also, very few Aussie cars are impacted. I had one of the very first and mine's not impacted so the numbers will be very few.

Is this not simply a term used by the monkeys in order to try to massage the fuigures on recall issues?

Not sure about that but this is what I got back from Automobiles Peugeot Australia
"Hi Stephen,
Apparently there is a service action (not a recall) which will not affect many vehicles in Australia.
I have checked with our warranty dept, and your vehicle is not affected."
Cheers
