Hello from Morecambe

Post by sirdmark »

Hello to all of you. I bought a slightly neglected 2003 206cc Allure 1.6 Petrol from a neighbour down the road four days ago. It has 86k miles on the clock and a lot of minor and medium issues but nothing too serious I hope. I have mot until June next near so hope is, I can fix everything. It came with only one Key and I just bought a second one from our local locksmith. Now I am waiting for the paperwork from the DWLA to get the code card and the security codes from Peugot. I ordered the brake discs and now I need the bolt for the batterie attachement and a plastic cover for the far side shock absorber under the hood. And I guess a billion other things. But everything will come, hopefully.

Thanks for the welcome. Primed, sprayed some minor blemishes, repaired the wiper and washer, repaired the fuse box and polished her with the youngest one. One days work and a lot to see. Ordered the Total Quartz 9000 5w40 Fully Synthetic oil, will arrive on Friday. Need to find the technical Handbook. Don't know the right Batterie size. Wrong Batterie is build in.

I think 5W30 is recommended for the 1.6 16 valve TU5JP4. Mine takes a Yuasa 3012, as recommended by the Yuasa website. The battery tray is sized for a larger battery - don't know why, but the 3012 is plenty - 52 Ah, CCA 450 A.

I always used the recommended Total Quartz 9000 5w40 in my 2005 1.6 206cc. Always used the genuine Peugeot oil filter too. Never had any problems with the engine.

Sorry, I did order the Quartz 9000 5w30 cause I read the posts on oil before I ordered.. I am just unable to type properly. Also ordered the 286 lightbulbs and holders for the screen. All those 5p articles add up. But I had the first 3 hour drive today, partly with roof down. Everything is running smoothly and now the rain is back and I can't measure the battery. Something for tomorrow. Luke

Foe the technical manual, the best thing is the Peugeot Service Box; see http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/viewtopic ... 2&p=135843
