Drivers door seal split causing a leak

Post by rubb3rbull3ts »

The rubber above the drivers side door seal has split, does anyone know someone in South Wales that can repair it?

Have i got any options?

Thanks

Try a Peugeot dealer. Part no 8320 A8 (leftside).. 8320 A9 (rightside).

Alternatively, a complete roof panel from a scrapyard.

Ian its probably a stupid question, has the complete roof panel got the rubber seal built in to the roof?

It is held in place by the trim, which clips in:

I'm having problems trying to find the seal via online methods, found one on ebay but it looks damaged to me.

Does it look ok?

It is a little damaged, but may still be satisfactory. I wouldn't pay much, though - how much do they want?

Probably worth a punt. Have you got a price from a Peugeot dealer?

the dealers haven't got the part and i've tried online breakers and i've been given one price of £36.

how important is the damage to the item Ian?

are there any fittings on that end?

I don't know. You would have to remove the existing one to judge. Maybe go for the £36 one - then if it's no good you can get a refund, whereas with the £15 one, you've been shown the damage, so you have no recourse.

an update, bought one from a guy on ebay turns out it was damaged on both ends - will return for a refund.
bought another on ebay it'll be on its way shortly, but im not sure if my seal has two connections at one end and one connection at the other end, or two at both ends.

My car was first registered feb 2004, has it got a different door seal to earlier or older models - anyone know?

The mechanic removed the current seal to replace with the purchased seal, but it is broke had ro replace the original one and broke the sealant and didn't replace it very well either.

Whats best cover with waterproof masking tape or vaseline?
