Wiper issue please Help!!!

Hi all,

My drivers side wiper all of a sudden stopped working. The passenger side one works still. Any ideas what it could be? Does each side have it's own motor? Anyone had anything similar...hoping it's a DIY fix!!

Only one motor. It drives sets of connecting rods which move the two wiper spindles. I expect there is a problem with a connecting rod, or the spindle has come loose on the arm.
