Rim sizes

Post by DankDeathPunch »

Hi!

New member from Sweden here (hope it is okay for me to be on the UK site).

Just got my hands on a pretty good looking 206 CC and i am looking at rims at the moment.

I am quite the newbie when it comes to rim fitting and i have no clue on what sizes works with
this car, and i don't feel like testing my luck and ordering a set of rims and hope they fit.

I have been looking at 17x7 rims with a ET of 25, although i really want to have wider rims and
get alittle more "german" stanced look. (example image is attached).

What can i do? How wide rims can i get on a otherwise stock 206cc?
What is the limit on rimsize / rim width / ET?

Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome.
You can't go too much wider than stock as they will rub (especially on the rear) You would also have to be careful of going up to a 17" for the same reason. I can say you will find the ride quite harsh on 17" rims though.

You might be better asking the question on a Peugeot site than caterers for modified 206's. This site is more for questions on more stock equipment as you may have gathered. We will try and help where we can though.
Cheers Col.

While I was shopping for my 206cc I tested one with 205/40R17 wheels. Ride was terrible even on a good quality road.
As for rubbing, there was none as the tire width was kept same as stock.

Thanks for the information! atleast 17" is okay for me, only question that remains is the width... But hopefully i can get more info about that on the 206 owners webpage. :)

This is a very useful app, as it has the factory sizes and rims.

Some of the sportier hatches had a 17" wheel option.
