Fuel gauge sensor

Post by huntish »

Hi haveing a problem with my fuel gauge. I was getting low on fuel so filled up but the gauge did not move but as I'm driving it's gone down to empty even though I no it has plenty of fuel in the tank. I want to check the level sensor in the tank but can't find how to access it can anyone tell me where it's at.
Cheers

It is mounted integral with the fuel pump in the tank. First disconnect the battery, taking care to use the approved method, and depressurise the fuel system. To access it, you have to remove the rear seat, drill out the pop rivets securing the cover plate, remove the plastic cover, disconnect pipes and wiring, and then use a special tool (or tap the end of a screwdriver) to remove the unit. Note alignment marks to get it back again!

Quite a relief I would think. Let's hope it stays that way.
