Sold the pug today. Almost two years service and 52K, I ran it into the ground.
I would like to thank everyone on this forum who helped me keep the car going. Capncol, Gazza, Slo, ianL, leegsi and of course Grandadmonkey in particular have been great characters to interact with.
I wont be getting another 206cc unless I take up banger racing, so bye folks and thanks for your help.

Only thing to do .. drive them until they drop!tenpole wrote:Sold the pug today. Almost two years service and 52K, I ran it into the ground.
Daughter's has done around 42K in about 5 1/2 years (~97k now). We're getting the rear axle replaced this week with a re-con but that seems to be the last big job we will do.
She's enjoyed 'Kermit', but she feels it time to get something newer .. so we may be putting ours up for sale soon too. Tatty but fun! Could be a project for someone who has the time.

All I will say is "Do Not think" that the 207CC is anything like the 206CC. Totally different car to drive. Nice in it's own way, but NOT a improved 206gazza82 wrote:tenpole wrote: She's enjoyed 'Kermit', but she feels it time to get something newer .. so we may be putting ours up for sale soon too.

207CC is NOT on our list of possible replacements!! Like tenpole .. it won't be a Peugeot. "been there, done that, got the t-shirt" ...
I did probably meant to say "enjoyed" as in it was fun to drive .. I did not say it was fun to look after!! Both our Pugs have caused more problems, and expense, than any of the others we have owned. Even my 18 year old Alfa was less hassle until very recently.

Re: Goodbye Butterfly
Ended up with a Corsa. Oddly this 1.2 little car is more expensive on insurance than the 206cc with the 1.6gti engine according to my broker.
Good luck everyone.

Re: Goodbye Butterfly
We've switched completely to VW now. Very little went wrong with our low mileage 206cc but my Golf Estate is very practical, reliable and economical, and my wife's Polo is delightfully easy to drive on the rare occasions it sees the light of day.
Good luck tenpole - your contributions have made interesting reading and at times hilarious thank you.
