Battery
Hello and good morning, I`m thinking of replacing the battery on my 02 plate 206cc, can anyone suggest the correct one to buy

Re: Battery
Follow precisely the disconnection and reconnection procedures here:

Ensure that you get the correct battery and not the one for the hatchback. Get the right size and 190mm tall one as you have a 1.6 petrol. I got an Exide EA530 which fitted perfectly, performs well, and cost £60.
There are notes in the Owners Handbook too (pages 109 and 125 I think).

Re: Battery
Many thanx, I have economy mode active on the read out, am hoping a new battery will cure this
Re: Battery
It does not require a cure! Economy Mode is a power saving measure which is invoked after a certain period with the engine off, depending on the level of battery use with the engine off and how long the engine has previously run for. It switches off when the engine is started, and, as implied, the longer the engine runs, the longer it will take with the engine off before it kicks in again.206ccsilver wrote:Many thanx, I have economy mode active on the read out, am hoping a new battery will cure this
I suggest that if the economy mode is the only "symptom" you have, you may be replacing the battery unnecessarily. If you don't use the car much, just pop a battery charger on once a month or so. That will prolong the life of the battery.

Hi, yeah have charged the battery but engine just turns over and wont start, did the bsi reset but has made no difference
Re: Battery
Doesn't sound like the battery is the primary fault. Any warning lights or other clues?
Cheers Col.

Re: Battery
Well done, thanks for feeding back the outcome. The typo was amusing too...
