Idle control valve

Post by Above The Clouds »

Latest challenge.....
Engine tick over low 500/700 rpm making it to easy to stall when setting off unless high revs applied
After reading similar issues icv gets a mention as to the cause ? would it be worth changing if so how ? or is it another visit to the garage.
Have seen them on ebay for around £10 good value or naff quality ??
Would like to change myself if poss but I am far from a expert....
Cheers Ian.

ICV Around £10???????????
Your car doesn't have one. Idle is controlled by the motorised thottle body.
Are there any other symtoms other than low idle?
Cheers Col.

o I told you I know very little :popping:
I googled it and read similar issues on the 206 thinking this was the same for our 206cc ???
wrong to assume....
Col there are no other problems other than the idle speed when cold its around 800-1000 which seems fine but after a few minutes it drops to 500-700 uneven and prone to stalling .
Can anything be done ?
cheers Ian.

Problem solved.
One dose of Forte injection cleaner mixed in the fuel tank(50 miles later) has done the trick !!
Engine now running more smoothly both at idle and at speed.
Highly recommend this product to all owners with same problem as mine :D
