I don't think the letters SE stood for anything. It was just the name of the trim level.

206cc trim levels were S, Quiksilver, Zest, Sport, Allure, Silver, Black, SE

Not entirely ... our 2001 model CC was an SE and definitely not multiplex. Just a trim level ... no external badges etc either.

Ive got a 2002 se, no badges on mine either. It will be interesting if anyone with an se could post a pic of their interior and i bet not one of them is the same, granted its easy to change, ive gone to cream leather but ive got pictures of the original gti cloth it had
