Lidlocks won't lock

Post by 206ccEast »

So. I was changing color on the wifes car, for the millionth time and did what I always do, when operating the roof.

This time something happened.
When the car was done, it had drained the battery. I jumped it with my own car.

The roof is now inoperable.

I have read this forum and tried e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. you guys have suggested, but I'm stuck.

Right now status is:

Roof closed, lidlockpins in "LOCKED", lidlocks NOT locked.
I can't force it, the roof hydraulics won't operate the roof in any way - they just won't lock in place. Electrics are funky, speedometer is failing too and the airbag is now complaining. All fuses are good.

Am I being really retarded and staring right at the problem, without seeing it, or do I have a real situation? The wife WILL kill me, if I don't fix this. :censored:

EDIT!
I AM retarded. I'll give the other pages a proper look before asking dumb questions.. Sorry

This sounds like the usual Peugeot problem when the battery is disconnected, or, in this case, is drained. Charge the battery and then try a BSI Reboot.

Tried the BSi reboot, got the *BONG!* sound and everything.

Locks are still not locking when I push the controls or when I push down on the lid. I've tried to open the boot and pulling them (lid and construction under the lid) together with no result-

The locking mechanism is working fin, when I manually operate the lid backwards - the locks lock when the lid is upright, and they release on the way down. They just dont lock when the lid is down - no matter where the roff is positioned manually.
The insisting alarm sound has raised to a state of panic..

I can just feel her eyes on me.. I got the car for her birthday and now this. Damnit.

Could be one of the microswitches. See http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12945. I would guess one of the three - C,D and I - they are all mounted on the one unit.

Check this video http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12920 for explanations of what they all do.

All switches look good. They got taken care of by a some-what professionel.
I got some advice.. It seems that the fact that the speedometer failed first, is a vital factor. Apparently.
I didn't think much of it, since I actually didn't move the roof, until I had to mask it off for dipping. Once the ball got rolling, I could remember that the roof was messing me the whole time. :box:

I've been advised to fix the speedometer and then do the reset once again.
I'll post results.

Changed the speedometer, nothing. It's not even working.
So, I guess I'll spend a couple of days looking for the guide to the thingy in the gearbox or what it was.. Dammit. :(

The part that's turned by the geartrain is called the Tachometer Screw, and the part it drives is called the Control Pinion.

There are different parts for different vehicles - not sure where the differences lie. If you post or PM me the last eight digits of your VIN, I can look up the part numbers for your car and post the diagram.

I pulled it off and searched the web.. I now know that it's a "hastighedssensor" in danish - directly translated "speedsensor". It couldn't have been easier. I got one tomorrow and then I'll know if I won or I learned..

I can snap a picture for you when my little lady gets home. If you haven't heard anything later, don't hesitate to remind me in this thread.
