Roof alarm

I know from reading the forum others have had the same problem, when driving faster than 5mph a continuous bleep sounds even the though the roof is closed fully. The dealer has had the car 4 times and adjusted & then changed all the switches in the roof mechanism but it still happens, usually after opening the boot. They now don't know what to do and have suggested I take it to a bigger dealer. Its booked in tomorrow. Any suggestions from anyone, as Peugeot don't seem able to fix it themselves. Tony

Did you have any luck getting this fixed? Mine is going in next Tuesday for a similar problem. When the roof goes up and the bootlid closes it does not lock properly and the motor continues to whirr - to fix it, you have to get out and press down on one side of the boot lid and you can hear it click into place - you can then lock the roof and put the windows up. If you don't do this the warning alarm goes off as you mentioned.
If you open the bootlid you can see what the problem is, there is a white coloured (J shaped) catch at the back of the bootlid on each side attached to a cable. On one side I can move the catch back and forth easily i.e. in and out of the slot into which it fits, whilst on the other it is catching suggesting something is out of line! I am really tempted to attach a label to the problem part so that the technician knows where to start - see my other post re automatic windows where it took a total of 7 visits (spread across 3 dealers) to get them to adjust the ECU and fix the problem. I told them on the first visit it was the ECU but they insisted on ordering new switches as well as trying to tell me that the windows on newer Peugeots weren't supposed to go up automatically.

I got my car back last night and so far, it finally seems fixed. The mechanic at the new dealer came out and looked at the car with me as I explained the problem. He found that the boot hinge on one side was loose so that the bootlid moved and he presumed when I opened the boot it moved/opened the roof switches.
He has tightened it up and so far it finally seems cured.
Interestingly my windows don't go up automatically either. I am tempted to just live with it and finally enjoy driving the car, as it has already been back so many times. What is the ECU and how easy is it to fix/change?

Its a Black box of electric stuff for the roof etc I think - mine was damaged in a fire and had to be replaced and they never programmed it correctly. In terms of function, the drivers window should go up automatically if you pull the window button up for a second and then let go - this only works when the engine is running and only on the driver's side.

My driver's side window works fine. The passenger window will go down automatically but not up.
On balance a minor problem, as I am now finding that sometimes the roof mechanism won't work even when the screen is pulled across. I have to go round and redo the screen. I am not sure if I can face taking it back in for yet another problem!
Have they fixed your problem yet?

Car has finally gone in today to have the roof looked at. It has got worse over the last week as it doesn't lock now on opening or closing the roof (originally just on closing) - lets see what they suggest - based on previous experience, probably that there is not enough nitrogen in the air in the nearside front wheel.......about as plausible as some of their earlier theories.

Frosty .... the nitrogen comment was just a joke....
Anyway, having checked the boot out, the dealer has ordered a replacement cable which seems fair enough as the locks are cable operated and they said they tried to tighten it but to no avail...watch this space

Mine beeps intermitantly. Local dealer has offered to try and fix it for about £200 but after reading previous posts I don't have much confidence. He found that the boot hinge on one side was loose so that the bootlid moved and he presumed when I opened the boot it moved/opened the roof switches.
He has tightened it up and so far it finally seems cured.
What exactly is it on the hinge mechanism that you tighten?
Somebody said they were going to post pictures, but I can't find them.
