1) Is it a Convertible? ;)
2) someone has taken them off or they fell off (unlikely, pretty good glue on the sticky pads!). They should be on the right hand side of the rear of the car. You can get replacements from the dealers or ebay and stick them on (And Capncol told you that back in April!)
3) CCs' were fitted with 1.6 16v petrol, 2.0 16v 137bhp petrol and diesel engines in the later models. Have a look on your V5C (owners registration) or check on the DVLA website. https://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPo ... ution=e1s2 for the engine size. Might even say on the engine cover.
4) the colour code is on the sticker inside the driver door with the tyre pressures, etc. Three or four letters near the bottom.
5) see the "upload attachment" tab at the bottom of the page when you are typing a post or uploaded to another site like flickr and include a link in the post using the URL option.

I always use vinigar (just a teaspoon and a drop of wash up liquid with water in a spray bottle . spray rub n buff withgn a soft cloth . u can use squeegies etc as well but end result brill , (just a tip . I got loads)
once again I kinda digress , however the windows . I am somewhat disabled so i want it as easy as possible init ? so I thought put roof halfway down as I did when aplying vasaline to all roof rubbers , (after leaning them of ourse).....Digresion should be my middle name . the back window I was leaning in and spraying the window."oh this is the best clean your ever gonna have " thinks I. then out of the blue the bloody boot starts coming down on me so i kinda unjamed myself and so doing i interupted the routine, DOH
of course mr cleverdick bought my 02 plate 206 cc WITH OUT a user manual . i spent 2 days playing with the coloulm switch for HIGH FI ??/ only to find hi fi replaced lol.

Hi littlejo, were you able to fix the problem? I have the same one. The leak is inside the trunk. I think its a little motor that helps move the roof, where two hydraulic hoses stick.

I managed to stop the beep by fastenning the electric locks in the locked position with small plastic bands (cable ties)

Please advise.

There is only one motor and that drives the hydraulic pump. You will need to get the leak fixed then probably top up the fluid.
If the hose or a ram is leaking, a good hydraulic specialist should be able to repair the ram or make you a new hose as the Peugeot ones are expensive. You would need to take the faulty one along as a pattern.
If you put your location in your profile, someone may be able to suggest somewhere local to you to sort it.

See the video for explanation of workings.

Cheers Col.

Thanks for your reply.

Do you think it could be fixed ? I went to the dealer and they identified the problem as the Tray elevator kit (pardon my traslation), and it costs around USD750.00, just the kit, not counting the special hydraulic oil to top up the system and service. The leak looks like is in the silver part of the kit, not the hoses, the one that shows on the video preview.

What kind of mechanic could do it? Do you think an hydraulics specialist that doesnt know the brand could repair it?

I first noticed the problem one day I tried to close the roof, and it was having troubles to go up. It sound like the motor was working but with not enough strength so I decided to "help" the roof pulling it upwards softly, until I heard a quiet "pffff!". I dont know if it was leaking before or after the event.

I tried it today with the roof opened but the beep came back. Tried to short the sensors, tried with a cable tie around the sensor (the one that clicks) but didnt work, beep still. I will try to disconnect the yellow plug from the ecu later, while I figure out how to fix the hydraulics.

Cable ties only work around the whole white hatch and its correspondng bonding part in front.

Any advice?

Thank you.

Btw, Im in Republic of Panama.

That is a hydraulic ram. A good hydraulic repair shop will be able to fix it (and supply some suitable oil)

Hello,

I managed to take the strut (ram) out by following instructions in post "Rear shelf strut replacement" in this forum.

I found a hydraulic repair shop that work with trucks and industrial stuff. The owner helped me replace the seals inside the strut. He has a supplier that manufactures custom made hydralic seals. He had to make a custom tool to remove te clip that closes the strut. USD38.00.

I mounted the strut and have been waiting for the oil from the dealer for a month and some. They are the only ones that sell this oil. It was a special order made to Aral Oils for these cars. It is not in the market. What is sold out there is the ZHM variant, and we use ZMH. I read the oil cant be mixed with any other oil or the pump will burn. It is a minera oil. USD42.00.

Today, I received the oil and managed to top the system up following cheekee's directions in post "How to - Topping up hydraulic fluid in roof pump". Very easy. I had to refill a bit twice after air in the system went out.

The roof works like a charm now.

Thanks to everybody here, specially Capncol for your guidance.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!
I bought my first Peugeot 206 CC Cabrio yesterday and broke the roof within hours. Having read this post and realising the problem was the same as mine, I followed the instructions and it worked perfectly. I now have a fully working roof and a Peugeot that I adore  and hope to spend many years enjoying. Thank you to all who contributed for their knowledge and help which proved invaluable and solved my problem. :love-thx:

Hi all

had same constant bell ringing whilst driving. Found the micro switch drivers side roof hook not working, one on order will update when i fit it. Also did the same and used two cable ties to secure white catches in lock position in the mean time to shut the bell up

Hi all
Well my new part arrived today, fitted in about an hour after which realized that the hydraulic strut that operates the moving rear shelf needs to be returned into its closed position (towards the front of car). Finally got my roof back in working order. Also whilst fascia removed adjusted the left and right roof strikers 3 ml hopefully to stop the odd drip from seals where roof meets windscreen, will update next time we have rain (not to soon I hope). Well chuffed.

Hi
I have recently been given a 206cc 1.6 which i had to change head gasket and cam belt.
The battery was disconnect for a few months so i thought the roof might need resetting.
To my surprise the pull cord the the back shelf is not there, so i assume that the cord is snapped.
I have managed to put the roof down manually but i now cant close the boot lid, i have followed the correct procedure except the pull cord which is snapped.
i am going to try the reset procedure you previously explained in this section.
Could any tell me if i can do anything else instead of pull the cord only its snapped? .
I cant close the boot lid .could this be down to the pull cord? if so does anyone know how to replace the pull cord and where to get the part except Peugeot..

Any ideas would be appreciated
Steve747 :)
