Hi.
I have a late 2003 206cc 1.6 16v auto that runs ok but for the p1518 code recurring.
It does not set the MIL but it is annoying everytime you scan it there it is p1518 ( inlet manifold runner).
I have looked at the manifold and cannot find and form of operating lever or such or any flaps.
Does this car even have them .
Thanks for any help with this.
Fault code p1518
Re: Fault code p1518
Don't think it has any.
What are you using to read the codes? As this is a Peugeot you will need something that is compatible ... generic code readers can give spurious results making you think it is one thing when in fact ...

gazza's right. The right thing for your car is Peugeot Planet 2000. Read all about it
Re: Fault code p1518
I have used delphi clone and a launch diagun and even acr4
Each one has come up with the same code.
I did think it might be a red herring as the mil does not illuminate and it seems to run ok except for the slow upshift 1-2 when cold and the funny way it has 2 second gears before going in to third.
But that another problem to sort later.Lol

Re: Fault code p1518
The two second gears is not a problem. The second 2nd shift is the torque converter lockup operating. Not a lot of people spot that
TC lockup operates on 2nd, 3rd and 4th. You will not usually notice it in 3rd and 4th, because it lust stays locked from 2nd as you accelerate. However, I have noticed that, if I slow in 3rd, but not enough to invoke 2nd, the TC unlocks and I get unlocked 3rd, then locked 3rd, then 4th. It probably does the same in 4th, but I haven't noticed it.
The hanging onto 1st when cold is, I think, a feature of the programming. Mine does exactly the same, and I think it is to avoid the engine labouring at low revs when cold. It wouldn't need to do that if the TC lockup worked in 1st, but you can't grumble really - it's actually a 7-speed gearbox with four variable and three fixed speeds.

Have you got cruise control?
Cheers Col.
