Post by JAYJAY123 »

Hi All
I am having issues with my car
Its not starting up
its not turning over

The battery seems fine

also the roof makes a non stop bleeping sound which the roof is closed fully, it only bleeps when going over 5mph

Please help

Get the starter motor tested.

It is possible that one of the roof switches is not working correctly, so the roof ECU thinks the roof is not closed.

I apologise
ive never used the forum before

Peugeot 206 cc 1.6 manual petrol
ive only had the car a week

the problem has turned out to be the crank sensor, i have cleaned it up a bit which is starting up at least but need to actually change it

The roof I'm still having issues with as its non stop bleeping, the roof is fully up and locked but everytime i go over 5mph it bleeps

Crank sensor wouldn't stop it from cranking. It would prevent it from starting however.
Cheers Col.

I'm not sure about this, but I have an idea that it could be due to one of the microswitches on the top of the windscreen pillars signalling open instead of locked. Sometimes it's just a bit of dirt, and people have had success just spraying into it with contact cleaning spray (do NOT use WD40 - it is a dirt magnet).
