Hi, you'll probably find that the cord has fallen back behind the cover. Just unclip the poppers find the cord (on the near side) and poke it back through the hole. This happened to me two days ago. Good luck

does any one have a picture where this cord is connected? My problem also is that even when the cover is removed, there is no sign of the string and where it was tied.

They seem to have stopped fitting them on the later models. It lifts the parcel shelf ram which is easy to do by hand. Watch the video on manually closing the roof and it shows what the string does and where it's connected
Cheers Col.

I suppose the only remaining option is to go to a Peugeot dealer for diagnostic "Peugeot Planet" which will name all the faults you have with the roof. You can buy all the diagnostic tools on line but personally I'd go to a specialist. Good luck, Martin.

Dont know if this little quick fix will help anyone, but when our roof wont go down or wont come up we find if you drive the car above 20mph it seems to work again sometimes for a few days then have to drive it again.

hi everybody. new to the site so bear with me if I ask the same question everybody else has.
I recently bought a 2003 206cc for my daughter. when I bought it the guy said the roof wasn't working. checked online and noticed the shelf wasn't pulled back in the boot. pulled it back, roof worked. a couple of days later, opened the roof, fine, but when I went to close it, the windows didn't go all the way it stopped. looked online, common problem. stripped out the rear seats, panels etc, greased the runners, and it all worked. couple of days later, it wouldn't close. looked in the handbook, manual closing, try that. get so far, no cord. somehow, I don't know how, I did something and the parcel shelf went down, and I closed the roof. yesterday, opened the roof, wouldn't close. tried manual closing again, couldn't get the parcel shelf to drop down. after an hour I gave up, and looked on here. this is obviously a common problem with these, because of all the posts, but I saw several people say that you can move the rear parcel shelf manually, and its easy??????????? how.also saw a post from a member saying the same thing, and in his post was highlighted in pink? CLOSE MANUALLY VIDEO, saying it shows how to do it there. I thought the highlighted words were a link, but they're not. I tried to contact the member, but I couldn't. if anybody knows the answer, i'd love to know, please. it is currently sat undercover with the roof still down. the member whose post I quoted is CAPNCOL.

Mate - this is the introductions section of the forum. Essentially this thread is posted in an inappropriate place. Not your fault I know but not the best place for you to get the answers you need.

There is a section dedicated to roofing issues - including the thread on manually closing the roof.

check out the roof section:

hi artermis. now I am confused. what are all the posts before mine. are they all in an inappropriate place as well. after I registered yesterday I read these posts, but nobody says where these videos are. I've looked at the link you left, and the answer isn't there. do you know where it is?
thanks

Yes, this thread isn't in the best place. As I said, I know that's not your doing and I'm not getting at you for it but it's not the best place for you to get the answers you need - I'm trying to direct you to the best place for you to the best answers as quickly as possible.

If you're really stuck you're better making your own post in the problems - roof section if you can't find the answers you need in there already.

The top dozen-ish posts in the roof section have it pretty much all covered though, so you'd do well to have a read through.

The video you're after is right there mate - it's in the post called "how to raise the roof manually/electrically with windows up". Can't really miss it!

hi artemis. I appreciate your help, and I will follow your suggestion about posting in the Roof Section, but I watched all the videos on you tube before I registered here, and the problem I still have is how to move the parcel shelf manually, because I don't have the chord. people say its easy, but no one says how, but thanks again, and I will post a Parcel Shelf only post
