Vaseline is petrol based and will damage the rubber .. you would be better off with silicon based

The seal is the same part for all 206CC, regardless of age, according to the Service Box.

Could you try silicone sealant, perhaps?

an update the main dealer made it worse just as covid 19 struck, phoned to arrange the repair again but they were only doing emergency services at the time, currently in dispute over the poor repair their mechanic did.

found another garage and they fitted the part i bought but there is a pool of water in the footwell behind the drivers seat, when it rains its like a tap.

IanL regarding the picture it has no sealant at all?

No mention of sealant. The procedures do mention sealant where it is required.

i've been down numerous dead ends with this issue, it's still leaking. it's actually coming in through the roof seal somewhere and hitting the drivers side seat belt on the way to the floor, thus making a puddle.

can anyone recommend a convertible roof specialist in south wales? or at the least a garage that won't make excuses after they've tried and it still leaks, thanks
