Hi all,
MOT failed on the operation of the side lights.
When I turn the switch to the position for just side lights, both the side lights and headlights come on.
What's causing this? Do I need to replace the whole indicator switch system or is there something else I need to do? I tried the bsi reset but that didn't do anything.
The garage quoted me almost 400 for the replacement.
Please let me know if that's definitely what I have to do or if you have any other ideas.
Thanks
George
P.s. the gearbox is dying too and I've been quoted 610-860 for its repair/replacement. Should I just buy a new car??

I went back to garage to challenge them on the MOT failure, asking why it failed. They couldn't really give me a proper answer and they got defensive and aggressive. I went to another garage instead and they MOT'd it and it passed.
I'll go ahead and get the gearbox done.
