high/low beam

Post by Fihen »

Hi all
I have just noticed that when I switch the headlights to high beam the low beam lights go out as does the green light warning on dash and is replaced by the blue high beam warning light. I have not had the car on the road long and find the lighting to be poor. My car is a march 2002 206cc 1.6 auto. I was just wondering if this is normal or do I have a fault??? I believe the globes are H7's.
Any help greatly appreciated

The warning lights are correct .. but if you have the "crystal" headlamps with two H7 bulbs, the low beam should stay on with the main ..

The "crystal" lamps are the ones with a clear lens and the back of the lamp unit is a plastic "door" to gain access to the bulbs.

PS I think all CCs had the crystal twin H7s as standard

I wonder if the low beam behaviour is an option that can be altered with PP2000?

Might .. I think I've seen it in the past .. but it should be standard on a CC

A previous owner may have altered it.

Thanks everyone. I had to send my pp2000 back although I religiously followed the installation instructions listed here I could not authorize the installation and was getting very little help from the supplier. It was cheap but how cheap is cheap when it doesn't work. After all that off to auto electrician. The headligts look amazing but in practice high beam is appalling.

You didn't try to authorise it with Peugeot/PSA over the web? You won't ... they are all UNAUTHOURISED and hacked copies ..

Also check that the headlight bulbs are in the right way up .. it is possible to fit H7s upside down so the beam angle is wrong
