locking problem.

Post by freddy888 »

2005 puegeot 206 Zest. 3 door

Central locking suddenly stopped working. Replaced fob battery-no change.

Lights flash as normal when hob pressed but nothing else happens.

Key opens drivers door only when used manually in that lock. Similarly opens passenger door only when used at that side.

Boot does not unlock when key is used in either door which is the main problem. Could live with manual door locking if only could open boot.

Both doors can be locked manually one at a time.

13 year old car with 35000 miles in good order but value does not warrant huge expenditure.

Any help/suggestion would be much appreciated.

The boot never did open on central locking, only locked.
Have you checked fuses?

@Capncol "The boot never did open on central locking, only locked." Do not understand this. How do you unlock the boot other than using the central locking system?

Fuse listed for central locking is intact.

Thanks
Fred

You use the key.
I think it's probably something to do with security with the roof down.
If you search through our forum, you will find various people who have converted the boot to unlock with the central locking.

EDIT: Just realised that you have a hatchback. This forum is for owners of the CC version (hard top convertible)
You are welcome to stay as the cars share a lot of common components. The central locking on the CC is different from yours though
Cheers Col.

Does the central locking button on the top of the dash work? If not, the problem is either power (so, as said above, check the fuse under the dash (30A)) or a defect in the BSI.
