Hi all again and i have found the answer to my problem. I thought i would remove the abs warning bulb as it was annoying me more than anything,so after i had stripped the facia from the dash i put my key in to put the ignition lights on. (to find the correct bulb ) I noticed that the bulb was loose. So i turned ignition off reseated the bulb and switched the ignition light on and lo and behold (Abs?) bulb no longer lit up.
The only thing i can think is maybe a short on the bulb.
Now i am happy.Just goes to show some times it is something so simple that you tend to overlook such an easy problem.
